The Engineering Department at Colorado State University-Pueblo will hold its annual induction into the Order of the Engineer 6 pm Thursday 2 May (during exam week) in GCB 110, following the senior presentations. Graduating BSE and BSIE students and MSISE and MSE students who have an undergraduate degree in engineering or who will graduate in 2019 are eligible to join.
The Order is the roster of engineers in the United States who have participated in an Engineer’s Ring Ceremony and who have publicly accepted the “Obligation of an Engineer.” The Order of the Engineer was initiated on June 4, 1970 at Cleveland State University to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer.
An engineer wishing to be inducted must, by 18 April, have the little finger on his/her working hand sized and make a one-time payment of $10. Both can be done Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Engineering Department Office, Technology 263.
